FAQ

Which honey is the healthiest? And how do different varieties differ?

Each honey is unique – like wine with different terroir. Acacia is soft and hypoallergenic, linden is antiseptic No. 1, buckwheat has a high iron content. We do not choose the “best”, we offer you a variety of tastes and properties, laboratory tested and certified according to quality standards.

Do you add sugar to honey or heat it?

Never. We do not heat, do not filter until sterility, do not add sugar. Our honey is “live food”, which preserves enzymes, vitamins and natural crystallization. Everything is like in a hive – only in a jar.

Why does honey crystallize? Does this mean it has gone bad?

On the contrary, it is a sign of naturalness! Honey is not a syrup, but a product with active substances. Some varieties crystallize after 2 weeks (for example, sunflower), others keep liquid form for months (acacia). This is a natural process that does not affect the quality

How are you different from other honey producers?

We collect honey – we create the beekeeping ecosystem of the future: 5 queen-breeding apiaries, sensors and AI in hives, zero chemistry, selection only from certified apiaries, individual history of each batch. Baas Honey is control, transparency and the taste of nature.

What is the shelf life of honey and how to store it properly?

Natural honey can be stored for more than 2 years, but it is important to observe the conditions: in a dark, dry, cool place in a glass container with a tightly closed lid without access to sunlight and moisture. Advice from a beekeeper: do not store honey in the refrigerator – it will lose its aroma and may crystallize too quickly.

Can bees recognize a beekeeper by smell?

Yes. And not just by smell. Bees are masters of smell. They can distinguish their beekeeper from a stranger by a combination of smell, breath, movements and even energy. We at BaasHoney know this for sure: the same bees react differently to new people and “their own”. Especially if you remember to put on gloves. Bees remember. Bees feel. And if you care about them, they feel it too.
